How much does a website cost?
It depends on what your business needs, so we work it out together once you have seen your free sample. I start from what the site has to do and find a plan and a price that work for you, without leaving out anything it needs.
Do I have to pay anything before seeing the design?
No. The sample design is free: no deposit, no card details and no sales call. You only pay if you decide to go ahead with the full website.
Why is the website sample free?
Because a real design of your website is a better reason to hire me than a sales pitch. Some people will take the sample and not go ahead, and that is a cost I choose to carry rather than ask a stranger to pay for something they have never seen.
How long does it take to build a website?
Your sample arrives within 48 hours of sending the brief. The full website usually takes about two weeks once you go ahead, depending on how quickly I receive your information and content.
Do you build websites for my type of business?
Almost certainly. Trades, salons, restaurants, clinics, lettings and shops are where most of the work has been, but the job is the same in any industry: helping a customer decide to trust you from a phone screen.
Will you write the website content?
Yes. I write it from your answers to the brief and anything you already have, such as a Facebook page or an old website. You check it and correct anything I have got wrong about your business.
Will my website work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes. Every site is designed on a phone screen first and then scaled up to tablets and desktops, because a phone is where most of your customers will find you.
Will I own my website and domain?
Yes. Both are yours, and they go with you if you ever decide to leave.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. Your current site stays online while the new one is built, and nothing changes for your customers until the new one is ready.
Do you provide hosting and a domain?
Yes. Your domain and the first 12 months of hosting are included in the price, and hosting is a yearly fee after that.
Will my website be optimised for Google?
Yes, the technical side is built in, so Google can read the site properly. Nobody can honestly promise a top position, and anyone who does is guessing.
Can you help my business appear in local Google searches?
Yes. I advise on your Google Business Profile, or set one up if you do not have one, and I offer ongoing local SEO for businesses that want help after launch.
